A Trio of November Inspiration
by Nicole Doiron

Hello all my dear friends at Blue Fern Studios!

Nicole here today to share with you my November projects.

Let's start with this teal shabby chic layout of my niece Ella with her violin.

I used papers from the Serendipity collection to create a grid pattern collage on my page.  The brick design was made using the Essential Textures stamp and Snow Imagine Ink embossing powder.

I combined 2 chipboard pieces to create my title, one from the Sweet & Lucky set on which I created an ombre effect with the Sea Mist, Snow and Caribbean powders, and the other from the French Words set covered with Ebony.

Obviously, most of the pretty flowers found on my page are from Blue Fern Studios!  The bigger teal flower with the fuzzy center is from the brand new Memoires Blooms set - it's gorgeous!

Below you see the very elegant Gatsby Collage that I divided into 2 pieces to slide at either end of my photo.

The chipboard piece that inspired this whole concept is the Courtship Violin that you see peaking out from the bottom corner of the photo of my pretty and gifted niece, Ella!

Blue Fern Studios Products
Patterned Paper: Serendipity (Imagination, Fascination, Chronicle)
Chipboard: Courtship Violin, Gatsby Collage, Sweet & Lucky set, French Words
Flowers: Memoires Blooms, Spring Lilies, Tranquil Blooms, Courtship Blooms
Stamps: Essential Textures
Imagine Ink: Embossing Powders (Caribbean, Sea Mist, Ebony, Snow)

My 2nd page is as boyish as the first one was feminine.

I started off with some vintage Paisley & Vine papers to go along with this more masculine theme.

The title was taken from the Wish Wonder Dream set which I covered with Blue Sky embossing powder.  I added some fabulous Lightbulbs covered with Sand & Sea.

Again, I divided a longer piece of chipboard into 2 pieces, this time a piece of the Printer's Bits to fit vertically above and below my photo. On this piece is the Ruby embossing powder which I dabbed with a little bit of brighter red acrylic paint.

Some more of the Printer's Bits layered over the Triangle Eclipse covered in Stellar Night and dabbed with brown paint. On the background paper, I stamped the netting design from the Essential Textures stamp set.

You've seen this little cutie before... he is  my friend's son.

Last but certainly not least, I share with you a closer look at my layout
that was part of the November challenge reveal, featuring the latest collection, Memoires.

The November challenge is simply to use a Blue Fern Studios chipboard title on your project, ANY title so hopefully you will play along!

I had the perfect title in my BFS chipboard stash for this Autumn layout... An Autumn Story.
I simply covered it with a new favorite shade of Imagine Ink embossing powder called Golden Brick.

On my background, I sprayed different Autumn shades of mists plus used the new Crackled Textures stamps with brown ink and added some stenciling with modeling paste.

After treating it with a mix of Golden Bricks and Chili Powder powders, I cut the Treasured Floral Frame into several pieces to adorn my page with it here and there, combining it with the Fall Foliage set.  On the leaves, I mixed some Chili Powder, Tangerine and Nutmeg.

Another chipboard set that I am totally in love with is the Pretty Pumpkins set and here you see the smaller version. Totally gorgeous!

Finally, here is a closer look at the 'Autumn story' that I chose to document on this layout, a very beautiful shot of a splendid Fall day spent with my man, and framed with beautiful earthy tone flowers, including BFS Tranquil blooms.

Oldies but goodies with a dash of new ~ Sandi

Hello there, Blue Fern Studios fans!
Thanks for stopping by our Blog.

Sandi here with you today to share my July projects using a variety of paper collections and chipboard as well as our other products which are so perfect for embellishing what we create!

I'll begin with a layout I created for my son-in-law in memory of his dad. This photo is very special to him and I had promised to scrap it for him. After several false starts, I finally found a great fit with the Serendipity Reminisce side A and then used Merriment, Calling Cards, Fascination and Chronicle for my photo layers.

This is "Bob and little granddaughter Peyton" standing by the lake.  So, I wanted to go with the blue tones and add pops of color as accents. I embossed the Chained bits with Seven Seas Embossing Powder. If you haven't tried that particular set, I highly recommend them.  Perfect for adding a little "edge" to your page. Of course, we needed some "plant life" to reside alongside the lake and I chose the newish Tranquil Foliage piece. After priming it with white gesso, I used gelatos and ink and then made a little sunflower which was Bob's favorite flower.

My background was created with super heavy gesso and a stencil. To create more dimension, I used an embossing ink with the Wallflower Stamp and then coated it with Watermelon Glitter.

This, of course, is a great shot of the amazing flowers Blue Fern is now carrying. These are the Attic Charm Glittered Rose and Attic Charm Daisies as well as a few of the Courtship Blooms. The chipboard title "Friends" is from the Arrow Words set and is embossed with Mushroom and then double-embossed with Honey.

A Calling Card for a subtitle.

More of the Watermelon stamping.

I finished with some black ink splatters, cheesecloth and art stones.

These two cuties are my nieces, Kim and Karen. I'll be seeing them in about a week and I'm so excited! Since I didn't have a particular paper collection that I needed to highlight, I reached back for the Frolic collection and used Frolic Veranda, Petits Moments, Calling Cards, Dans Le Jardin and Amoroso. I enjoyed doing some "rare for me" fussy cutting of the sweet frames and used them as layers along with chipboard. Side B of Petits Moments is my base layer.

I wanted a subdued, uniform look for the under layers, so both the Spanish Tiles and Whimsy Flourishes piece are simply painted with white gesso.  You can see that I had lots of fun with layers!

I wanted the Selfie title to really pop, so went for the Heavenly embossing powder! It's the bomb if you want a great bright blue that looks sparkly! Of course, I've used lots of flowers, Attic Charm Glitter Roses, Attic Charm Daisies, Tranquil Blooms and Tranquil Roses and Lilies. There in the corner is my Whimsy Flourish.

I'm so loving the frames cut from the Frolic Amoroso paper. Wish I'd done it sooner!

Here you can see some of the background stamping with the Halftone stamp and the Serendipity Medley Stamp. I added some splatters and shadowing with a blue mist from my stash. Then finished with art stones.

Awesome dimension!

Here is the newest little scrapper in our family.  After seeing some of my recent layouts, she got busy creating some for her mom!
I've used mostly Attic Charm paper for this layout but my title note is from Serendipity. My base layer is Attic Charm Foyer.

The Leafy Swirl Frame and Gatsby Collage were treated similarly. I went with my new fave way of alternating embossing powder colors on both these pieces, using Cotton Candy, Fern, Buttercup and Ginger.

A close-up of the Gatsby Collage chipboard and some of the Blue Fern Studios flowers.

You can see some of my stamping here as well as one of the Ironworks pieces which was simply embossed with Ginger and tucked into some layers.

I love the Ironworks pieces for tucking into floral clusters as well.

One last look at the dimension and colors.

Playing with darks and lights - by Zanka.

Hello friends!
I must say, I prefer to use light background for my layout rather than the dark ones. But the pattern of Bountiful (Sanctuary) is so elegant, that I just HAD TO give it a go.
So here is my layout with the dark background.
'SMILE'

I have used quite a lot of light elements for more contrast, I've even drawn leaves and branches with the white ink pen.
BFS chipboards used: Laughter, Happy , Smile; Turkish bits, Meadow Angelica, Lace rounds.

'XOXO'
With my second layout shared today, I'm back into my comfort zone, meaning light backgrounds :)
I used the new Deja vu collection, patterned paper and stamps.

I have used paper Tresors for this project. I have cut the paper in one-third and then glued it together again, arranging the border pattern in the middle (I learned this trick from Elena, who showed it in her tutorial here)
I have used the chipboards mainly to add dimension and texture.
BFS chipboards used: XOXO, Vintage labels, Gatsby collage.
Stamps: Halftone, Vintage edges.

Thanks for visiting BFS blog, enjoy !
